Gregory van Kipnis, Chair

Mr. van Kipnis retired as a General Partner of Tiedemann Investment Group. He has created and managed a number of hedge funds, a broker dealer, and an RIA, including most recently Tiedemann-Invictus Partners. During a long Wall Street career he has overseen proprietary trading, equity arbitrage and risk management strategies for leading financial institutions including Jefferies & Co, Natwest Financial Products, Morgan Stanley and Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, where he served as Chief Economist. He has authored several books on the futures markets and is a past director of the New York Futures Exchange.

Roy Bouffard, CFP

Mr. Bouffard is a principal and financial advisor with the firm Bouffard & Ramsey a financial advisory practice of Ameriprise Financial Services, Inc.. Mr. Bouffard holds degrees in literature and education and was a humanities teacher for many years in Connecticut schools. He is a voting member and current member of the standing committee of AIER. He previously served as President of the Thomaston Rotary Club, Treasurer of St. Paul's Church, and the Moris Senior Housing Board. He is currently the Chairman of the Friends of the Thomsaston Opera House.

Frederick C. Harwood

Mr. Harwood retired in 2006 following a 41 year career in administration at AIER. He has authored and contributed to numerous publications, and represented AIER in speaking engagements, on topics such as demographics, energy, the environment, and economics. He continues to participate in the monthly review of business cycle indicators and serves as an AIER trustee and Chair of the audit committee. He is also a trustee of Fairview Hospital.

Neil D. Holden, DBA

Mr. Holden is an experienced advisor to senior management of financial institutions. A specialist in industry analysis, strategic planning, and economics, his experience was shaped over many years in the corporate sector and more recently in academia. He has served in management positions at Chase Manhattan Bank, Chemical Bank, Manufacturers Hanover Trust, The CIT Group, Union Carbide Corporation, and Midland Mutual Life. He is currently a Senior Lecturer of finance in the College of Business at Western New England University. He is also a voting member of AIER.

Gerald E. Sohan, PhD.

Dr. Sohan (USAF, Retired) is currently Division Chief at the Air Force District of Washington. He is charged with combined inter-agency exercises planning, execution and evaluation, Readiness Reporting and Aerospace Expeditionary Forces planning in the National Capital Region. During more than 25 years with the U.S. Air Force he has served in numerous capacities including logging over 4,500 flying hours as a pilot and teaching economics at the Air Force Academy. He holds a doctorate in economics from Texas A&M University and is an adjunct professor of economics at the University of Maryland University College.
