
The Investment Committee meets regularly to set investment policies and recommendations. Portfolio Managers confer daily to exchange information and meet regularly with the research staff of the American Institute for Economic Research to discuss economic trends.
JOHN LANE BARRY, ChFC, President & CEO of AIS and Chairman of the Investment Committee. Before joining AIS in 1994, he was an analyst at Prudential Insurance. Prior to that, he served for eight years as a Captain in the U.S. Air Force, where his last assignment was economics instructor at the Air Force Academy. He earned an MA in Economics from the University of California in 1991 and an MBA from the University of Montana in 1988. He received his BBA in Finance from the University of Notre Dame.
RICHARD A. SEELEY, Sr. Vice President and Corporate Treasurer and Secretary of AIS, joined AIS in 2001. He received a BS degree in engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1984 and an MBA from the University of West Florida in 1990, while serving as a finance and program management officer in the U.S. Air Force. He was an analyst at Prudential Insurance from 1991 to 1996 and IBM Corporation in 1997. From 1997 to 2001 he was self-employed while studying the stock and options markets, technical analysis and trading, investment techniques and financial structuring and planning.
SETH L. HOFFMAN, Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer, joined AIS in 2003. He holds a BA in International Studies from Vassar College and an MBA in International Management from Thunderbird, the Garvin School of International Management. He was a political risk underwriter and country risk analyst at the American International Group (AIG) prior to joining AIS.
MACKENZIE WAGGAMAN, Vice President joined AIS in 2004. He received a BA from Rochester Institute of Technology in 1975 and an MBA, with a concentration in finance, from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 2003. Before joining AIS he worked as a financial consultant and broker for A.G. Edwards & Co. He previously worked in the motion picture and television industry where he held numerous executive positions including Vice President and General Manager of Medialab Studio, L.A.
